About Us

One 2 One Mentors, is a non-profit agency that has provided service to residents of the High Desert since 1997. We are dedicated to mentoring youth in our communities and providing service to the High Desert as a whole. We recruit positive adult role models within our communities and pair them with the children in the greatest need. Approximately 75% of the youth participating in our programs come from families considered by the Federal Government to be below federal income standards.

These children are usually at-risk for school drop-out, delinquency, and/or involvement in substance abuse, violent behavior or other criminal activities. Most at-risk children lack strong, positive adult role models. Through this program, we as a community have an opportunity to assist our youth by redirecting them toward higher education, alternative strategies, positive goal seeking and a better way of life.

Our goal is to recruit, train, and monitor mentors within the High Desert for supportive one-to-one mentoring. Mentoring can break down the barriers and bridge the gaps from hopelessness to fulfillment by developing caring relationships one child at a time. One of the other programs we provide is skill building classes; these classes are intended to re-educate teens by providing them the building blocks to form healthy relationships and avoid abusive or violent solutions to conflict.

Our mentoring center is currently located in a 3000 square foot building that includes; one large classroom, a counseling area and four small offices. We are small but mighty. We assist at-risk children to become productive adult members of society. We have dedicated our facility to changing the negatives to positive outcomes in the lives of as many of our high desert young people as possible.
